Japan Day 24 - All Rain, No Gain

The morning came with bad news. The weather report from the night before, who's varying promises of rain to just dark and cloudy, confirmed it's prediction hesitations - the day will come with rain.

"So what?" We thought to ourselves. Rain doesn't mean bad rain, nor does it mean we can't move even to the next town.

Our preparedness to challenge the weather that day, however, did not stem from such a stubborn minded desire. No, we had a bigger picture in mind. With sister only available for another week of vacation, we had agreed that if there is one place to visit, it had to be Kyoto.

If there is a mystesism about Kyoto, it is because for the longest time "Kyoto was Japan." Yet, so much of the former nation's capital is still packed with everything Japan. From the pre World War architecture (Kyoto escaped the brunt of recent wars), to the geisha burrows, to the towering bamboo forests and wildlife - there was and is good reason why emperors, politicians, and spiritual monks once took up residence in that corner of the country guarded by sea and mountains.

No wonder then, which direction we shall go. But not today. Today it rains.

Hmmm, vanilla is so boaring. Next time you want some ice cream, go with spaghetti flavor.

Sis opted for green tea, again. I'm love the tea, not the ice cream.

That's it, a boaring day. We needed one, I suppose. Took care of some updates and future plans. Tomorrow and the next few days we will have to crank out a few more km's to make up today's goose egg.

Much love, stay dry.
